  1. Thank you, Jennifer, for this month’s theme that led me to The Storyteller by Saki (the pen name of Edwardian wit Hector Hugh Munro). On a train ride, a frazzled aunt bores her misbehaving nieces and nephew with a corny tale. Enter a suave bachelor in the same compartment: his wildly unconventional yarn irks the aunt but thrills the kids. Lessons learned by the children – and the aunt? “Excessive virtue can attract trouble” – and “good deeds don’t guarantee happy endings.” This amusing gem fits nicely into your theme of enchantment and mystery!
