E is for Everybody Wins!

This post almost became “Eek! I hit an itty bitty baby boar!” At first I thought it was a small dog or cat running across the street. It was very cute and very young which makes me think Mama Boar isn’t too far behind.

But I digress…

Soooo…ten kudos points to anyone who can tell me what sport the title refers to!

*pause for speculation*

That’s right! It is baseball month. My son plays t-ball and is very excited, well sometimes. I mean he is only 5 and so is his attention span. Right now if you head over to AtYourLibrary.org you can play Step up to the Plate @your library and be entered for a chance to win tickets to the Baseball Hall of Fame in Cooperstown, NY. All ages can play and if your library doesn’t participate, just send me a note and I will let you know of one that does. 😉

April is also full of other great events that can be used to promote libraries. For example:

  • Hop to Your Library- story time about bunnies.
  • Earth Day Birthday- throw a birthday party for the earth with recycled crafts and earth friendly tales
  • El Dia de los Ninos/El Dia de los Libros (Children’s Book Day!) April 30th
  • National Library Week April 10th-16th

With libraries everybody wins! Great books, friendly people, community, fun, and yes, sometimes even cookies!

What are some of your favorite library events?

  1. Fellow A to Z'er stopping by. Great post – LOVE, LOVE, LOVE libraries. That's one of the reasons I want to be a writer – so my books can be found in libraries.
